A native of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, Dr. Bradley Snyder joined the faculty of South Dakota State University in Fall 2022 as Instructor of low Brass. Prior to joining the faculty at SDSU Bradley served as the bass trombonist for the Ocala Symphony Orchestra for four seasons. A versatile musician, he has performed with the the Jacksonville Symphony Orchestra, Houston Symphony Orchestra, the Houston Grand Opera, the Southwest Florida Symphony, the Tallahassee Symphony Orchestra (FL), Sinfonia Gulf Coast (FL), the Northwest Florida Ballet, the Houston Brass Quintet, the Houston Brass Band, the Foundation for Modern Music (TX), Houston Jazz Orchestra, Agora Brass Ensemble (PA), Balcony Big Band (PA), the Bone Forum (PA) and the Pittsburgh Trombone Project (PA). As a soloist Bradley was a finalist for the International Trombone Association's 2017 Donald Yaxley Solo Bass Trombone Competition.

At SDSU, Dr. Snyder teaches trombone, euphonium, and tuba majors. Additionally, he teaches courses in music appreciation, brass pedagogy for music education majors, music technology, conducts the low brass ensemble, and coordinates the low brass studio class. Outside of performing, Dr. Snyder is an active arranger for trombone and low brass ensembles. His arrangements have been performed at the International Trombone Festival, the Cleveland Trombone Seminar, Pennsylvania State University, Florida State University, University of Northern Colorado, and by the Southeast Trombone Symposium Youth Trombone Workshop. His arrangements are published exclusively by imbrassworks.com.

Committed to furthering the trombone for future generations, Dr. Snyder is actively involved with the International Trombone Association where he currently serves as the online newsletter manager. Through this position, the newsletter team works with the organization as we strive to connect to membership and promote diversity and inclusion in the international trombone community.

Dr. Snyder received his Doctor of Music in Trombone Performance from Florida State University, a Master of Music in Trombone Performance from Rice University’s Shepherd School of Music, and his Bachelor of Music in Trombone Performance from Pennsylvania State University. His previous teachers include Dr. John Drew, Allen Barnhill, Mark Lusk, Robert Matchett III and Bruce Lazier.
